Xavier M. Custodio (He/Him) is an award-winning theatre director from Chicago, IL and the Founding Artistic Director of Visión Latino Theatre Company. Growing up in the Humboldt Park Neighborhood, Xavier learned the importance of bringing theatre to everyone, where they are part of the journey of the work. When directing, he brings his experience as an educator and musicianship to bring the stories to life. Xavier is honored to work alongside playwrights to bring their stories from the beginning to full-scale productions with rave reviews.

In 2019, Xavier M. Custodio won his first award at the Alliance of Latinx Theater Artists of Chicago for Outstanding Director of a Production - Musical for his work on In The Heights. In 2023, Xavier was honored to win the prestigious Jeff Award Director - Short Run for his work on the Midwest Premiere of That Must Be The Entrance to Heaven.

In his short tenure as a Chicago-Based Director, his impact has been felt throughout Chicago, breaking the fourth wall so that the audience could feel like they are part of the journey. Xavier Custodio believes that theatre should be accessible to all, no matter their background.
